Bin Rules are used to provide rules that prevent items being stored in adjacent areas of the warehouse. They can be used in the following types of scenarios:

  • Items cannot be stored with close proximity of certain other items where the is a risk of cross contamination.
  • A maximum of an item or category of an item can be held in a certain area of the warehouse due to health and safety reason (such as COMAH) or to limit the quantities of high value goods stored in certain areas.

Bin Rules can be set on either the Item Card, Stockkeeping Unit Card or Location Card. For Items and Stockkeeping Units the action can be found under the Warehouse menu of the ribbon and for Locations the action can be found under the Location menu of the ribbon:

Bin Rules are always enforced irrespective of Put-away Templates. Bin Rules can apply to both Basic Warehouse and Directed Put-away and Pick scenarios.
