On the MES Screen when you want to create your Output and finish the production process, you have the following Buttons available.

Output

The Output quantities will be posted, but the Operation will need to be stopped separately.

If you are on any routing process, other than the last routing process for the Production Order, the system will post Capacity Ledger Entries only. If on the last routing process then both Capacity Ledger Entries and Item Ledger Entries will be posted into Business Central.

Stop

The Operation will be stopped as described in the Stop Codes Section.

If you select the Stop Code that identifies the production process has been completed (and the next one can be started if relevant) then the system will post the Run Time, if required and update the Routing Line.

Output and Stop

The Output will be posted and the Operation will be stopped. The behaviour (the entries posted into Business Central) is the same as when using the Output button.

The Output and Stop button is only available if activated on the "MES Setup" screen.

As part of the MES functionality, the system will also update the relevant Production Order Routing Lines with the following information, which can be used to track the progress of a Production Order and report variances between Expected and Actual run times for the Production department.

Actual Start Date-Time Will be populated onto the Routing Line of the Production Order when the Operator starts a production process on the MES Device.
Actual Finish Date-Time Will be populated onto the Routing Line of the Production Order at the point that the Prod. Order Complete Stop Code (as set on the "MES Setup" screen) is selected during the Stop process, confirming that the process has been completed.
Last Output Date-Time

This field is updated on the Routing Line of the Production Order each time that an Output is confirmed by the Operator on the MES Device.
