Against Routing Lines in Business Central, you can define default Clever Attribute Values against each Operation together with the relevant Attribute Posting rules. The rules and values will then be utilised on Production Journal/Output Journal Lines when they are created for a Production Order.
The options available to select in the Attribute Posting Fields are:

If you select this option, then the attribute will not be displayed against the Operation on Production Journal/Output Journal Lines. This therefore means that no attribute values can be entered for it. |
| Display Only |
If you select this option, then the attribute value you enter here will be displayed against the Operation on Production Journal/Output Journal Lines but the field will not be editable. When selecting this Attribute Posting rule, you will also need to ensure that the required attribute value is populated against the Operation as well if a default value needs to be used. |
| Optional |
If you select this option, then the attribute value can be populated/amended against the Operation on Production Journal/Output Journal Lines. You may want to enter in a default value against the Routing Line, which will be copied across to the Production Journal/Output Journal Lines or it can be left blank if required. |
| Mandatory Persistent |
If you select this option, then the attribute value must be populated against the Operation on Production Journal/Output Journal Lines before it can be posted. The attribute value will then be remembered and displayed as the default value to the user the next time they process that Operation. |
| Mandatory per Entry |
If you select this option, then the attribute value must be populated against the Operation on Production Journal/Output Journal Lines before it can be posted. The attribute value will not be remembered and the user will have to enter in an attribute value the next time they process that Operation. |
| Mandatory Same Value |
If you select this option, then the attribute value must be populated against the Operation on Production Journal/Output Journal Lines before it can be posted. The user will have to enter in the same attribute value entered as the one entered against the Routing Operation. They will not be allowed to enter in a different attribute value. |
