The Routing Analysis screen enables you to see a detailed performance analysis relating to the Routing and is available from the Routing, Routing Version and Engineering Change Request screens within Business Central.

It is intended that the analysis can be used to review the performance of the Routing (and it's Operations) across all of the Production Orders that use it, giving a good indication of whether the planned timings for your processes match what is happening in reality.

In all instances the Analysis screen can be accessed by navigating from the main menu of the relevant screen, such as the Routing, as is shown below.

When the Analysis screen is open, there are three parts that make up the analysis functionality, which are the Filters, the Analysis section and then a Chart section, within which it is possible to show differences between expected and actual average times, for both Setup and Runtime information.

The filters can be used to refine the analysis according to the following metrics.

Item Filter This can be used to define the Finished Item No., as it maybe the case that the same BOM is used across multiple Output Items
Variant Code Filter A Variant Filter, so that you can (where required) view analysis information only for specified Variants
Date Filter Use this to change the period within which you want to analyse. The date here relates to the date that the Consumption has been posted

An example of the Analysis screen is shown below.

The analysis section shows the following information for each Production BOM Component.

Type This will be either Work Centre or Machine Centre depending on the Routing Line
No. Is the No. from either the Work or Machine Centre, from the Routing Line
Description The Description of the Routing Line
No. of Prod. Orders This is the total number of Production Orders that the operation has been run against, when done so as part of the selected Routing
Setup Time Unit of Measure Code The Unit of Measure for the setup time
Routing Setup Time The expected time (related to the Setup Time Unit of Measure Code) required for setting up the operation
Actual Average Setup Time The average time taken in reality to perform the setup of the operation
Setup Time Difference Any difference between the actual and expected time (as per the Setup Time Unit of Measure Code)
Setup Time Difference (%) The difference (as above) represented as a %
Actual Setup Time Std. Deviation This shows the deviation of the actual time needed for setup of the operation - highlighting whether the actual time being taken is consistent or varying
Run Time Unit of Measure Code The Unit of Measure for the run time of the operation
Routing Run Time The expected run time (related to the Setup Time Unit of Measure Code) for the operation
Actual Average Run Time The average run time taken in reality to perform the operation
Run Time Difference Any difference between the actual and expected run time (as per the Setup Time Unit of Measure Code)
Run Time Difference (%) The difference (as above) represented as a %
Actual Run Time Std. Deviation This shows the deviation of the actual time needed for performing the operation - highlighting whether the actual time being taken is consistent or varying
Wait Time Unit of Measure Code The Unit of Measure for the wait time of the operation
Routing Wait Time The expected wait time for the operation
Move Time Unit of Measure Code The Unit of Measure for the move time of the operation
Routing Move Time The expected move time for the operation
Actual Average Stop Time Shows the time that the operation has been stopped during the production process
