The location visual enquiry shows a visual representation of warehouse data overlaid over a visual floorplan of the location.

Before the visual layout enquiry can be used it is necessary to define the layout of each warehouse location that the enquiry is to be used with. This step only needs to be done on initial setup or if any subsequent changes are made to the layout of the warehouse. The Location Visual Visual Enquiry is set-up using the Layout ribbon option of the Location Card:

A floor plan can be defined by either importing a floor plan as an image or drawing the outline walls. Once defined Zones, Racks and Floor Bins can be marked in the respective positions.

To get started, it is first necessary to complete the setup. The setup can accessed by using the Layout Setup action of the ribbon:

To use an image to base the floorplan on then select the '+' symbol next the field (or the existing image if previously defined):

Then select the image to import from the resulting dialog. 

It is also possible to choose the colour that each element of the enquiry will use.:

Zone Colour

The colour zones will be highlighted. This will be set as a default value but may be amended if users have difficulty distinguishing the colour.

Rack Colour

The colour racks will be highlighted. This will be set as a default value but may be amended if users have difficulty distinguishing the colour.

Floor Bin Colour

The colour floor bins will be highlighted. This will be set as a default value but may be amended if users have difficulty distinguishing the colour.

Highlight Colour

The colour warehouse storage areas that have significance will be highlighted. This will be set as a default value but may be amended if users have difficulty distinguishing the colour.

Warning Colour

The colour warehouse storage areas that have a warning will be highlighted. This will be set as a default value but may be amended if users have difficulty distinguishing the colour.

Inactive Colour

The colour warehouse storage areas that are not relevant to the enquiry. This will be set as a default value but may be amended if users have difficulty distinguishing the colour.

The system will automatically default in suitable colours, however these can be amended by selecting the AssistEdit on the field and choosing a colour from the dialog:

It is also possibly to amend the Grid Size. This specifies size of the squares in a grid overlay. This can be enabled when drawing storage areas on the layout to aid drawing.

Once the setup is completed, the floor plan can be defined you the following menu options:

This option is only required if no floor plan image is available. Select this option and then click on the position on the blank floorplan to mark the corners of the wall.

Select a zone from the displayed list and then mark the corners of the zone on the floorplan to designate what part of the floorplan represents the zone.

Select a zone from the displayed list and then mark the corners of the rack on the floorplan to designate what part of the floorplan represents the rack.

Select a bin designated as a floor bin from the displayed list and then mark the corners of the rack on the floorplan to designate what part of the floorplan represents the bin.

Remove any storage areas marked on the floor plan.

Show or hide a grid to aid the drawing of lines.

Zoom into or out from the floor plan.

When zoomed the floor plan can be panned by holding the left mouse-button and dragging the mouse.

Note: Rack bins do not need to be defined. These can be automatically determined by the position of the rack they are contained in and the definition of the rack.

A guide to designating areas on the floor plan.

Wall, Zones, Racks and Floor Bins and Walls can designated on the floor plan by using the Add Wall, Add Zone, Add Rack and Add Floor Bin options respectively as outlined above.

Once the applicable storage area type has been selected (in the case of Zones, Racks and Floor Bins) click once edge of the error on the floor plan. This will add a yellow coloured anchor as below.

Mark subsequent points by click on the floor plan (for example, for a rectangular area click the four corners). A purple line will be draw from the previous anchor to the current point marking the edge of the area. Keep doing this to outline the area on the floorplan. This can be done as often as required to mark irregular shaped areas. to complete marking the area click back on the starting point. Once the area has been successfully defined the  anchors will change to a green colour and the area will be shaded. 

 

The area can then be fine-tuned be selecting a green anchor by holding the left mouse-button and dragging the anchor to a new position.
