Azure Maps can be used within Clever Shipment Management to provide additional location mapping and route planning functionality.

As standard, a map of the route can be viewed, however enabling the Azure Maps Integrations adds significantly enhanced mapping functionality.  See Viewing Routes on a Map for more details on the standard mapping function.

By utilising the Azure Maps API the following additional functionality is available.

  • Enhanced Route Map, enabled in the application as opposed to calling an external web page
  • See a map of Drops for a particular date, colour-coded by Route. This allows a planner to visually see which Drops could be moved to another Route.  Drops can be moved from within the map view
  • See a maps of Drops for a particular Route
  • See a map of the Drop destination from the Drop Address Page
  • Geocode a Drop Address to include latitude and longitude co-ordinates to use with external route planning tools
  • Optimise a route by either distance or time based on usual driving conditions. Optionally use truck routing to optimise based on roads that are suitable for the delivery vehicle
  • See the Customers, Vendors, Locations and Post Code Regions that form a Delivery Area on the map from the Delivery Area Card
  • If using the Shipment Management Planner Role Centre, see a map of today's drops on the Role Centre

The Azure Maps Integration is available in Clever Shipment Management Version 1.5 and later.  The following points should be noted:

  • In order to use the Azure Maps Integration, you will need to generate an Azure Maps Key
  • The use of truck routing is used as a guide in order to optimise the delivery order on a route and is taken from the latest information provided by Azure Maps.  It should not be relied upon that the roads suggested are suitable for a particular vehicle.  Truck routing is not available in every country, please check the Azure Maps website for further information
