Catchweight can be recorded for Purchase & Sales documents through "Orders", "Warehouse Receipts", "Warehouse Shipments", "Warehouse Picks" "Return Orders" and "Credit Memos". The actual catchweight values can be entered both on the documents themselves, or via "Item Tracking Lines" if you are using Lot and/or Serial Tracking functionality.
As described in the Pricing header, the Price Per Catchweight is editable on the "Order" and "Credit Memo's" Lines, recording the correct price for the catchweight Unit of Measure.
An example of the Lines section of a "Sales Order" is shown below for reference.
In relation to the above example, the Total Weight (KG) represents the total expected catchweight, based on the Quantity specified for the Item.
Depending on the type of Document you are working with you also have the following fields, which work alongside the standard fields within Business Central for Shipping and Invoicing.
Sales Documents
For Sales Documents, the following information has been added to the Lines FastTab, which work in the same way as the standard Qty. to Ship, Quantity Shipped, Qty. to Invoice and Quantity Invoiced fields, but relate to the Catchweight of the Item.
-
Catchweight to Ship (KG)
-
Catchweight Shipped (KG)
-
Catchweight to Invoice (KG)
-
Catchweight Invoiced (KG)
Purchase Documents
For Purchase Documents, the following information has been added to the Lines FastTab, which work in the same way as the standard Qty. to Receive, Quantity Received, Qty. to Invoice and Quantity Invoiced fields, but relate to the Catchweight of the Item.
-
Catchweight to Receive (KG)
-
Catchweight Received (KG)
-
Catchweight to Invoice (KG)
-
Catchweight Invoiced (KG)
For both the Sales and Purchase Documents, as shown above the Unit of Measure is stated within the catchweight attributes (e.g. KG) based on the Catchweight Unit of Measure on the "Item Card", so if you have Items with different Catchweight Unit of Measure settings, this will update accordingly.
Note: if you include two Items with different catchweight Unit of measures on the same Document then the UOM will be removed from the catchweight attribute captions.
When entering catchweight via the "Item Tracking Lines" screen, the Catchweight (KG) can be populated for each Item Tracking Line. Populating this will auto-populate the Catchweight to Handle (KG) and Catchweight to Invoice (KG) attributes but these remain editable.
