When the Routing Lines are added to a Production Order, Manufacturing Plus also adds the Tools assigned to Routings to the Production Order, enabling the Tools to be managed directly on the Production Order.
Managing the Tools for a Production Order is done from the Prod. Order Routing screen (accessed from the Lines section of the Production Order screen) as shown below.
The system will have copied Tool setup information from the Routing to the Production Order and within the "Prod. Order Routing Tools" screen you are able to adjust the setup if required.
Checking Out a Tool
Usage will only be tracked against the Production Order if the Tool is Issued to the Production Order on which you are working. Therefore you must ensure that you Issue the required Tools to the Production Order, prior to recording the Setup/Output for the relevant Operation.
To issue a Tool to the Production you can either do so by changing the Status on the "Tool Card" (as detailed here) or you can use the Check Out option that is available from the "Prod. Order Routing Tools" screen, as shown below.
Note: The Status of the Tool must be currently available in order to then use the Check Out functionality or you will be shown an error and the Tool will remain in it's current state. |
Checking In a Tool
Once you have finished using the Tool for your Production Order, it needs to be checked in again, so that it's available for future Production Orders. From the "Prod. Order Routing Tools" screen there are two features that can be used for the check in process, as documented below.
Check In | When using this option, the Tool Status will be set to Available and a record of the Tool being checked in will be created in the "Tool History" screen which can be accessed from the Tool List/Card screens |
Check In with Fault/Damage |
This option works in a similar way to the standard check in process, but allows the user to confirm details of the fault/damage relating to the Tool, as shown below. In addition the Tool Status will be set to Faulty/Damaged and it will not be possible to use the Tool on another Production Order until the Tool has been corrected and made available. |
