Within the Landed Cost solution, if you are using "Landed Cost Containers" you may want to identify which Vehicle the Container is being transported on. In order to do this you must first set up the Vehicles within the "Landed Cost Vehicles" screen, as shown below. You can open this screen using the Search functionality in Business Central, or by selecting Landed Cost Vehicles from the Setup menu of the "Landed Cost Setup" screen.

The information to set up against a Landed Cost Vehicle is as follows.
| ID | This information must be populated and should be a unique identifier of the Vehicle. |
| Description | This field can be populated to provide more information about the Vehicle (such as the Name of a Vessel) if required. |
| Type | The type of Vehicle. The options available for Type are blank, Vessel, Plane or Train. |
With the Vehicles set up within the system you are able to assign a Vehicle to a Landed Cost Container using the Vehicle ID field on the Container FastTab of the "Landed Cost Container Detail" screen. The Vehicle Type of the Container is then filled in automatically from the Type of the Vehicle. See Landed Cost Containers.
The ID of the Vehicle is subsequently passed through to the receipt transactions, to allow Landed Cost Invoices to be matched more easily to the Containers to which they relate. The Landed Cost Vehicle ID is shown on:
-
the "Warehouse Receipt" screen, when the receipt was created for a Container
-
the "Item Ledger Entries" screen, for Items received against a Container
-
the lines of the "Posted Purchase Receipt" screen and the "Purch. Receipt Lines" and "Get Receipt Lines" screens, when the receipt was posted from a "Warehouse Receipt"
-
the lines of the "Posted Transfer Shipment" and "Posted Transfer Receipt" screens, for Transfer Order lines assigned to a Container
Note: the Vehicle ID is copied to these entries when they are posted, so changing the Vehicle on a Container afterwards does not update entries that have already been posted.
