The Retain Posted Documents feature in Clever Trade Plus is useful for businesses that wish to keep the visibility of Sales or Purchase Orders and Return Orders where they have been invoiced in full from the document itself.
Standard Business Central functionality would, in this instance, delete the Sales/Purchase Order or Return Order from the list view, making it difficult sometimes to see what has been completed and can make tracking an order difficult for audit purposes.
This enhancement, when switched on, will retain Orders and Return Orders in their original “Open” list views, instead marking them as Completely Invoiced on the document for added visibility. To remove these from your database, standard Business Central Retention policies can still be used.
Alongside this, Clever Trade Plus also supports retaining Sales and Purchase Quotes when they are converted into Orders. When the Retain Quote on Conversion option is enabled in the “Sales & Receivables Setup” or “Purchases & Payables Setup” screen, using the Make Order action will keep the original Quote in the system rather than deleting it. Converted Quotes are then locked from further editing, ensuring a clear historical record is maintained for reference and reporting.
