The Packaging Types Page should be used to define all the different types of Packaging that you could use at your Packing Stations to send your Items out to your customers in. The detail defined here will then be used by the Packing Portal to calculate the most suitable Packaging Type to use for the Order and Items you are sending. This is calculated as follows:
- What is the smallest Packing by Cubage that all Items will fit into that is also less than the Maximum Weight
- If there is no adequate Packing, then it will just suggest the largest Packing available
Against each entry, you can then choose to define some related information. The information could be populated includes:

The Shelf the Packaging is located on within your Warehouse. This Field is optional to complete and is used for information purposes.

The Dimensions of the Packaging. This information will be used when calculating the most suitable Packaging to use.

The Inner Packing Allowance you may want to use within the Packaging i.e. Bubble Wrap or Foam etc. This Field is optional to complete and is used for information purposes.

The Maximum Weight that the Box can hold. This information will be used when calculating the most suitable Packaging to use.

The related Item No used for the Packaging to allow you to purchase, track inventory levels and consume the Packaging
Note - We do not currently support the tracking and consumption of any Inner Packaging used. Only Package Tracking and Consumption is supported.
